We're excited to see Tourism officially joining the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum for years 12 and 13.
We’re long advocated for tourism to be reflected in the senior secondary curriculum; to see tourism included as one of nine new industry-led subjects from 2029 onwards, reflects tourism's importance to New Zealand and the wide range of career opportunities available to young people.
From entrepreneurship and destination management to digital technology, sustainability and visitor experience design, tourism offers far more than many students may realise. And we know tourism will increasingly need skilled, personable and technology-savvy people to help lead the industry into the future.
