TIA supports New Zealand’s long-standing Open Skies policy that largely ensures that aviation connections for moving people to, from and within New Zealand are unconstrained and able to move with demand levels over time.
TIA supports a seamless travel experience for visitors travelling to and from Aotearoa New Zealand. There should be no New Zealand imposed impediments to this seamless experience beyond what is absolutely needed.
With aviation connectivity so important to industry recovery, particular attention is likely to be needed to ensure aviation capacity is restored in line with demand and New Zealand’s capacity to host quality tourism activity.
