Congratulations to Orakei Korako Geyserland Resort for winning Judge’s Choice in the 2019 TIA Photo Competition! Their photo, “Ngā mihi kia koutou” was taken by Demelza Gilbert at Orakei Korako Cave and Thermal Park.
And congratulations to the winner of the People's Choice Award - Naumi Auckland Airport Hotel. Photographer Eira Mae R. Manlapig captured a beautiful photo “Entertainment with kid” showing a caring moment between staff and a small guest.
Thank you to everyone who entered photos to the competition this year. We were so encouraged and inspired by the beautiful images showing the diverse ways you show manaakitanga to your guests from all around Aotearoa.
About the TIA 2019 Photo Competition
This is a chance to show off your creativity, generate fantastic exposure for your tourism operation and win some amazing prizes.
Theme - Manaakitanga
This year’s theme is manaakitanga. Translated as showing respect, hospitality, generosity and care for others, manaakitanga plays a key role in Māori society and sums up the act of welcoming and sharing.
How do we as New Zealanders look after our visitors? How do you show Kiwi hospitality? What does manaakitanga look like in your business or community?

Judging
People’s Choice Award
The best photos received each week will be featured on TIA’s Facebook page each Friday and open to voting by the public. The photo that receives the most ‘likes’ throughout the competition period will be the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
This means that the earlier you submit your photo, the better chance you have of winning more likes. You can encourage your friends, family, co-workers and guests to vote for your photo. Need some tips on how to get engagement on Facebook? We’ve got you covered.
Judge’s Choice Award
