What do you do at TIA?
I am the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive. I make sure she is where she is meant to be at the appointed time! I also coordinate the Governance teams including the Board.
What's your career background?
Prior to joining TIA, I was working in the Oncology Research Unit at the Southern District Health Board coordinating drug trials with Big Pharma companies. I studied Linguistics and Russian language in NZ and Russia and my career has spanned marketing communications roles, a stint as a speech writer in Parliament and even working as an interpreter for the NZ International Arts Festival! These days, I am a professional generalist.
What do you do for fun?
I am halfway through training to be a yoga teacher and I love outdoor adventures including biking, camping and tramping. I walk at the beach every day with my staffy x called Stella. I love to appreciate art in galleries and sculpture walks, and I have a big pile of books I never have time to read. I am also a fierce recycler and connoisseur of Asian street food.
What’s one thing every visitor to New Zealand should do?
It’s impossible to pick only one. Cruising Milford / Doubtful Sounds is a highlight, tramping Mt Aspiring and viewing Punakaiki rocks on the West Coast are not to be missed. And, you can’t beat relaxing in the outdoor hot tubs at Omarama.
