As New Zealand’s longest running Cook Strait ferry service, the Interislander journey between the capital city Wellington and the port of Picton is one of New Zealand’s most iconic tourist experiences.

Interislander operates three large ferries across the Cook Strait between Wellington and Picton – Kaitaki, Kaiarahi and Aratere. Carrying both passengers and vehicle on up to 10 sailings per day, the 92km (85mile) journey takes just over three hours.
